My story on how cookies became so much more!
How it Started
It all began with me hosting my Ballet Company’s Christmas party in 2022. I wanted to make a fun dessert and figured I’d make some manger scene cookies. For my first time attempting decorated sugar cookies, they turned out pretty good! From that day on, a spark was ignited in me to continue learning this world of cookies. Here I am today with my Cottage License, offering cookies for my local and surrounding communities.
Now let’s go back to the year 2005. I received a flyer in the mail to go to an open house for the California Culinary Academy of San Francisco. I decided right then and there to apply for their Baking and Pastry Certification. I was accepted! All the early BART rides at 5am, dressed in my black and white checkered pants and chef’s jacket, learning everything from cakes to service pastries, breads to sugar art, safety and sanitation to knife skills, let’s just say it was a BLAST! I walked away with not only my certification, but also a new found love.
All the while, I continued to pursue my dancing for a well-known competitive dance studio, winning national titles and being invited on international travel tours. I had been a dancer from the age of 3 and continued through College, having received my BFA in Dance and minor in Business Administration. I danced for a professional Ballet company for many years out of college, and helped open, and still work for, a Ballet school.
As I’m not dancing myself anymore, partly due to COVID taking me out of regular rehearsals and exercise, and having 4 beautiful children, I have fallen back into my love of baking. This ballerina baker is so very excited for this next chapter, and look forward to the many memories we will make together!
